StackOverflow
Stack Overflow
Stack Overflow is a solo turn-based roguelite card puzzle game where every move pushes your system closer to a crash.
Build scoring combinations on a 3×3 Memory Grid using a standard deck of cards, trigger powerful face-card abilities, and keep the total value of the grid below the current Stack Limit. Exceed the limit and your run ends with a fatal Stack Overflow.
Inspired by classic card games, roguelite progression systems, and programming concepts, Stack Overflow combines strategic planning, risk management, and puzzle-solving in a dark terminal-themed world.
Features
- Turn-based card-puzzle gameplay
- Poker-inspired scoring combinations
- Unique face-card powers:
- Ace adapts between 1 and 11
- Jack swaps cards
- Queen absorbs neighboring values
- King manipulates alignment detection
- Roguelite progression with unlockable upgrades
- Programming-themed Modules and Scripts
- Retro code-editor inspired visual style
- High replayability through randomized runs
How to Play
Place cards from your hand onto the Memory Grid and create scoring alignments:
- Three cards of the same suit
- Three-of-a-kind
- Straights
- Straight flushes
Completed alignments score points, clear the corresponding cells, and generate new cards. Reach each round's score target to advance and earn gold for upgrades.
But every card also increases memory usage. If the grid's total value exceeds the current Stack Limit, the program crashes and the run is over.
